At Salto Grande

The thundering Rio Paine funnels the water from Lago Nordenskjold into Lago Pehoe. Here is the river just above the Salto Grande ("Big Waterfall").

The headwall of the French Valley as seen from near Salto Grande. The sharp, granite peak in the center of the image is called the Aleta de Tiburón ("shark fin").

Salto Grande, a powerful cataract between Lago Nordenskjold and Lago Pehoe.
